About the event
The Calm Collective
A Twice-Monthly Gathering for Women in Midlife and Beyond | San Diego, CA
What This Is
The Calm Collective is a grounded, soul-nourishing space to exhale, reconnect, and be nourished.
The Calm Collective is a twice-monthly in-person circle for women in midlife and beyond. It’s not a yoga class, a coaching group, or a performance space.
It’s a ritual/practice of return ; to yourself, your breath, and a safe space to land.
Each session includes:
Gentle mindfulness or guided meditation
Somatic or breath-based practices to calm your nervous system
Optional movement (this may include light stretching, yin-inspired shapes, or intuitive embodiment — but unless otherwise noted, this is not a full yoga class)
Honest, facilitated conversation and soulful reflection in community
You don’t have to be spiritual, flexible, or “healed.”You just have to be willing to show up.
What to Expect
Sessions are approximately 90 minutes
Doors open at 5:45 PM | Start time is 6:00 PM sharp
No late entry (the gate closes once we begin)
Come early, soften into the space, and allow yourself to land.

What to Bring
A yoga mat or comfortable seat (or borrow one of ours)
A journal + pen
Water or tea
Cozy layers (we may sit, stretch, or lie down)

Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need any yoga or meditation experience?
Not at all. While we may explore gentle movement, breathwork, or mindfulness practices, this is not a yoga class or meditation course. Everything offered is beginner-friendly, accessible, and optional. Whether you’re brand new or deeply seasoned, you’ll be supported to meet yourself where you are.
Will I be asked to talk or share?
Never required. Sharing is always by invitation, never obligation. Some women come to speak their truth. Others come to simply sit, breathe, and listen. Your silence is sacred too. You’re always in choice here.
Is this group therapy, religious, or spiritual?
No. This is not therapy, nor is it affiliated with any religion. It’s a grounded space that honors the emotional, physical, and spiritual layers of being human — without dogma or doctrine. Some find it deeply spiritual, others find it simply calming and real.
Can I bring my teenage daughter?
Possibly. Young women age 16+ are welcome if they’re genuinely open, respectful, and able to participate with presence. This space is emotionally spacious and best suited for those who can self-regulate and engage intentionally. Please reach out to confirm fit before registering.
What if I’m running late?
Doors open at 5:45 PM and close promptly at 6:00 PM. We begin on time to honor the integrity of the circle. Late entry disrupts the safety of the space, so we kindly ask you to arrive early and settle in. If you’re running behind, please text Laura before 5:55 PM.
What if I’m injured, ill, or emotionally overwhelmed?
You’re welcome exactly as you are. If you’re dealing with physical limitations, we can accommodate most needs — please let us know in advance. If you're sick or actively contagious, please stay home and rest. Emotionally tender? Bring your softness. We’ll meet you gently.
Will we be moving or lying down?
Most sessions include light movement — breath-led stretching, somatic release, or gentle Yin-style yoga. Nothing intense, nothing performative. Just movement that soothes the nervous system. You’ll always know what to expect, and you’re welcome to opt out or adjust as needed.
Is this a place to promote my business or offerings?
No. The Calm Collective is a no-pitch zone. We ask all attendees to honor this boundary so the space remains free of pressure, performance, or networking. Come to receive. Come to exhale. Not to sell.
What happens if I can’t make it ?
Due to limited space, tickets are non-refundable.
However, if you notify us at least 24 hours in advance, you may:
Transfer your ticket to a future session (if space is available),
Gift your ticket to a friend (just email us their name)
